The network is available to over 98% of Poland's population covering 96.5% of its area. Network coverage is growing steadily and will soon cover all of Poland. Moreover, Plus GSM boasts the best roaming offer*. Polkomtel S.A. provides voice and data transmission services. It is a pioneer in implementing state-of-the-art technologies which enable, among other things, wireless access to the Internet with the use of WAP, high-speed data transmission HSCSD (Polkomtel is the only operator in Poland to offer this service), packet data transmission GPRS, as well as multimedia messaging - MMS. In 2000, Polkomtel obtained a license to provide telecommunications services according to the UMTS standard. The Plus GSM network was the first in Poland - and one of the first in the world - to implement CAMEL technology, which is an element of 3G mobile telephony resources.
